After an eight-year breakup, the British alternative rock group Bush has reformed to tour this fall and release a CD. They’re at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods for a highly anticipated gig on Saturday.
Well, sort of reformed. Singer-songwriter Gavin Rossdale and drummer Robin Goodridge are the only originals from the group that gave the world “Everything Zen” and “Comedown” — the other two were Nigel Pulsford and Dave Parsons — but it still should be quite a party.
“I’m so pleased because I’ve got my voice back,” Rossdale tells Reuters. “To be in Bush, you’re basically born to be in … it’s like a suit of armor.”
Rossdale says he tried to coax guitarist Pulsford back in, but “he doesn’t want to travel anymore.” So the current incarnation includes guitarist Chris Traynor and bassist Corey Britz.
As for the CD, it’s going to be called “Everything Always Now,” but when it will be released is anybody’s guess. It was supposed to drop this fall. However, some sources say it may be delayed until next year. But if you want a taste, the single “Afterlife” is out. You’ll probably hear it at Foxwoods.
