Gavin Rossdale: Talks about Guitar Heaven Experience
Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale will perform with Carlos Santana on Wednesday (August 25th) in Las Vegas as part of an event celebrating Santana’s upcoming album, Guitar Heaven…The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time.
Rossdale will sing the T-Rex classic “Bang A Gong (Get It On)” at the show, the same song he did vocals for on the album.
Rossdale told us about the experience: “They actually asked me to suggest what song I’d like to sing, ’cause they had a couple of ideas I wasn’t sure about, and then I spoke to Howard Benson who’s the producer, he was like, ‘Well, what song would you like to do?’ So I threw a bunch out there and then they went for the T-Rex, the ‘Get It On.’ Well, it was really fun. Just went to the Valley and sang for, I don’t know, half an hour or something. It was pretty quick. Met Howard, and basically I got the most insane note from Carlos, which is just brilliant, so I’ve kept that note.”

Carlos returns to the Hard Rock Hotel Aug 25-Sept 5 kicking off with several special events 8/18/2010 Clive Davis and Carlos Santana will host an exclusive VIP listening event on August 25th from 3-5 PM at Vanity Nightclub inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino to unveil Santana’s brand new album Guitar Heaven…The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time Arista Records. Red carpet arrivals at 3pm. Then at 8 PM, a special performance of Santana’s residency show, Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through The Hits, at The Joint, will include superstar guest vocalists featured on the album due in stores Sept 21st. Santana performs Aug 25-Sept 5 and again in 2011.
